Kashgar  Attractions

Kashgar is sited west of Taklamkan Desert at the feet of the Tianshan mountain range and is a oasis.Kashgar is a remote desert oasis in "another world".  The region is completely different than any other part of China in tradition, costume and lifestyle. The western most city of China is the solo outpost of civilization from the vast Taklmakan Desert to the Karakorun Mountains.

Fragrant Lady's Tomb:  Abakh Hoja Mosque, located about five kilometers northeast of Kashgar, is an ancient Islamic building set among poplar trees. Abakh Hoja Mosque is "Xiangfei" in Chinese, which means "Fragrant Concubine" who is the only Uigur concubine among the 41 wives of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). 

 Kashgar Sunday Market :  Located in the middle of nowhere as the last station on the old Silk road from Rome to Beijing, lies this active trading area. Every week on Sundays, the entire community gathers here to shop at this lively market. Here, you can find people selling various commodities from fruits and vegetables to accessories and garments to tools and handicrafts. 

 Id Kah Mosque :  You cannnot come to Kashgar without paying a visit to Id Kah Mosque because it is one of the most famous attractions here. In fact, the gate tower has become the symbol of the historical city of Kashgar. It is the largest Islamic mosque in China and famous all over the world.

Abakh Khoja Tomb 
Abakh Khoja Tomb is the family cemetery of Kashgar area Islamic leader in 17th century. It is a masterpiece of Uigur architecture.

Three Immortals Buddhist Caves
They are one of the earliest Buddhist caves in western China, and are possibly 300 or 400 years older than Mogao Caves.

Stone City
Meaning Stone City in Turki, Tashkurgan was so named after an ancient city, more than 2,000 years old. TZXCXhe Stone City is located in the north of Tashkurgan County, Xinjiang Province.
