Highlight:Tibet has been a fascinated in the western country for centuries. Tibet is land of legend y magic. The country is recently opened for foreigners to visit as exploration, adventures tours, pilgrimage tour.
        The Sichuan-Tibet South overland tour covers Chengdu, Kangding, Litang, Markham, Basu, Bomi, Nyingchi, Lhasa. It is a very beautiful route. On the way, You will see Snow-capped mountains, Grasslands, Glaciers, Yak herbs, Tibetan villays, Buddist Monasteries...It is a good route for the one who likes adventures. Right now the road is much better than before, but during summer time, it is very easy get landslides. During winter time, it is with heavy snow.So the best time to go through is Spring and Autumn.
There are two routes entering Tibet from Chengdu, south route and north route. The south route of Sichuan-Tibet road has a total distance of 2149 km, and the best time to go is in May and mid-August to October. Please do avoid the rainy season as the road will be muddy and with more landslide.which is a paradise for photographers and those who love adventures.

Day by day itinerary:
 
Day01: Arrival ar Chengdu
Chengdu airportpicking up, Check in and have a good rest. Overnight at Chengdu Hotel
Evening program, starting on 19:00 to 21:00, is a combination of local snack taste, tea ceremony and opera.
 
Day02: Chengdu/Kangding(380km, 6-7hours)
Morning drive to Kangding, go through Er'lang Tunnel, along Da-Chu river. Upon arrival at Kangding, explore this town on your own, enjoy the mountain scenery and visit the local people. After dinner, enjoy a soak in the hot springs at Erdaoqiao. Overnight at Kangding Gesa'er Hotel(Twin-room with private bath based on 3 star standard hotel).
 
Day03: Kangding/Tagong/Yajiang/Litang(320km, 5-6hours)
In the early morning, visit Tagong  Anjue monastery and enjoy a rare chance to see their morning ceremony! Drive on to Litang. Today's journey from Kangding to Litang will take you approximately 5 hours (306km). En route have a stop at Xinduqiao ' heaven for photography' and Tagong Monastery.  Litang with over 3000m high altitude is one of the highest towns in the world. Afternoon visit the large Litang Chode Monastery, which is built for the third Dalai Lama. The monastery here is now home to 1400 Yellow Hat sect monks. Overnight at Litang Gaocheng Hotel (Twin-room with private bath based on 3 star standard hotel).
Day04: Litang/Markham(280km, 6-7hours)
Drive from Litang to Markham via Batang, Arrives at Markham. Markham is the first county since in Tibet, and is famous for the tibetan Drama, still we call it fruit county. Overnight at Markham. Overnight at Markham Kangsheng Hotel or Chadaofeng hotel (twin-room with private bath).
 
Day05: Markham/Dzogong(170km, 5hours)
Cross Lancang river, pass over the highest pass- Dongda which is 5008m. Overnight at Dzogong local best hostel.
 
 
Day06: Dzogong/Pasho(220km, 5-6hours)
 
Drive from Dzogong to Pasho via pomba pasture, Overnight at Pasho local best hostel.
 
Day07: Pasho/Rawok-tso/Pomi(240km, 6-7hours)
The way from Pasho to Pomi, you will see glaciers, snow-capped mountains, forests, local villages and also the beautiful lake Rawok-tso. Overnight at Pomi(Local best hostel, dorm bed).
 
Day08: Pomi/Bayi(240km, 6-7hours)
Drive from Pomi to Bayi, pass by the gorgeous alpine valleys lined with rhododendron bushes, cross over the Serkhym-la where you will have a chance to view the grand peak of Mt.Namche Barwa. Overnight at Bayi Saikang Runfu Hotel (Twin-room with private bath based on 3 star standard hotel).
 
Day09: Bayi/Draksum Tso/Lhasa(480km, 8-9hours)
Morning visit Bayi Cypresses Park, then along the beautiful Niyang River drive to Draksumtso(Basumtso).  The lake and its surrounding views are beautiful and the site is also connected to the semi-mythical ruler of the Kham region and Guru Rinpoche.  to Lhasa along the Niyang River, pass Min-la pass, en route visit Ganden Monastery. You will reach Lhasa afternoon, have a good rest. Overnight at Lhasa  Kailash Hotel (Twin-room with private bath based on 3 star standard hotel)..
Day10: Lhasa Sightseeing one day
 
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkor Market. Overnight at Lhasa  Kailash Hotel (Twin-room with private bath based on 3 star standard hotel).
Day11: Lhasa sightseeing one day
 
Day12: Lhasa airport dropping off, end the trip

This trip price includes:

  1.  Comfortable Accommodation (3-star hotels in Lhasa and Shigatse);

The trip price does not include:

  2. International air and train tickets for coming to & leaving mainland China. Air tickets or train tickets not specified in the itinerary on the first arrival day and last departure day.

  4. Personal expenses: Items of a purely personal nature such as drinks, laundry, tips to guides or drivers, FAX, telephone, excess baggage charges, or sightseeing or meals which are not included in the day-to-day itinerary.

Please kindly note that meals usually can be arranged easily yourselves. The tour guide and driver can always help if necessary. If leave it to us, it costs around 50CNY/p.p for a lunch or dinner.

This trip takes you into areas well away from the usual tourist trail. But this mean groups share very basic accommodation often with limited access to hot water, no showers for several days, pit toilets, simple food with very little spoken or written English. Landslides or vehicle malfunction may cause disruption to the trip. There are some long travel days, often on rough dirt roads.

Note:

  1. Minor program changes sometimes are necessary, depending on road conditions, weather and availability of room.
  2. .Health consultation from your doctor before you come to highland (Over than 3000M).
  3. As we travel in Tibet area where the economy much more backward than other place, the diversity food is limited, so we suggest you take some solid food. Most of local restaurant only can offer the simple Sichuan and Tibetan Dish.
  4. The temperature varies greatly and sunshine can be very strong, please bring jackets, sunburn cream, medicine for altitude sickness etc.
  5. For avoiding the altitude sickness, please don`t do violent exercises, drink more water and rest as much as possible after sightseeing.
  6. We suggest you don`t go outside of your hotel during the night.
  7. Most of the time you will enjoy the beautiful views in the car, and the driving hours are very long in this tour.
  8. Tourists should take the high plateau altitude into consideration, if unexpected accident(injury, death etc.) happen, the Insurance Company will compensate according to the regulations not our company.
  9. This line most place short of water, some hotels can not provide enough hot water for bathing but you won have problems in cleaning your mouth and face.
  10. Prices listed above are valid excluding the periods of Chinese and Tibetan New Year, May day holiday, China National Day holiday,Shoton Festival and other important Tibetan Festival,activities which cause the big tour price change, an enquiry would be necessary for the exact tour price if you happened to travel during these periods. ......
